Comte Borrell, 208 · Barcelona
Marés is the restaurant at the Hotel Zenit Borrell, on the corner of Comte Borrell and Mallorca, and it's open to anyone who lives or works locally. You don't need to be staying at the hotel. Expect paella, classic tapas and an inner courtyard with trees.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner
Mornings start with breakfast: coffee, orange juice, toast and pastries such as croissants or doughnuts. At lunchtime, Monday to Friday, there's a set menu, and in the evening dinner is à la carte: Galician-style octopus (pulpo a la gallega), creamy Ibérico and cocido croquetas, a paella, or a beef entrecôte with vegetable gratin. If you live or work in Eixample Esquerra, it covers your coffee before work, a weekday lunch and dinner with friends.

Trees, gravel and rush-seat chairs inside the hotel, away from the pavement. If you'd like a table outside, ask when you book.
There's a children's menu with a beef burger or chicken escalope, so little ones don't have to order from the main menu.
Celebration menus from 10 people, standing drinks receptions from 15 and a private room for events.
